13 Questions To Ask Yourself When You're Confused OR Not Confident About What You Want To Do In Life

13 Questions To Ask Yourself In Life From Becoming Natasha

2 years ago I hit a point in my life where I felt stuck. I was only 22 and I felt stuck in life. I haven't even lived a full 1/4 of my life and I was feeling stuck. Nevertheless, I was really struggling with who I was and what I wanted to do. Anytime someone asked me, "What did you go to school for?" and "What are you doing with your degree?" and "You should do ..." I never had a full answer. Even though I knew where I wanted to be, I wasn't confident about what that looked like, which meant I had no real answer to those questions. It wasn't that I was confused, well, just a little, I just wasn't as confident in myself to let others know what it is that I really wanted to do.

Fast forward 2 years later and now when I'm asked those same questions I still don't give an actual answer. This time it isn't about not being confused or confident, it's that people don't understand what it means to make a living outside of a 9-5 job. Working 30 years at a job or company is still the norm for making a living for most people, however, I am determined to find another way to make a living without being stationed at the same company or job for 30 years of my life. I discussed more about blogging as a career in this post.

Today, I'm sharing with you the 13 questions I've asked myself and continue to ask myself from time to time to get to know myself more, clarify my life goals, and choose the path I wish to take in life.

  1. Who am I? (Name, age, favorite color, etc.)

  2. What makes me happy?

  3. What can I not live without?

  4. Where do I get most of my energy from? When I'm alone? When I'm with friends?

  5. What do I value? Why? (Get specific here, really think hard)

  6. What do I believe? Why? (Get specific here)

  7. What am I afraid of? Why? (Be as honest as possible)

  8. What do I think about before I go to bed at night?

  9. If I was only able to do one activity for the rest of my life, what would that be?

  10. What makes me get up in the morning?

  11. What do I want to happen in your life, no matter what?

  12. If I was only able to live for one more month, what would I regret not doing?

  13. What are 3 life lessons that have shaped who I am today? (relationship, death of a loved one, school/education, etc.)

Be as honest with yourself when answering these 13 questions, that's the only way you will find clarity.
