5 Things To Remember When Going After Your Dreams

5 Things To Remember When Going After Your Dreams

It's funny how we automatically think that we will fail at something before we even try at it. The sad truth is that we talk so much about what we want to do in life, that we hardly, if ever take the first step to achieving our goals.

There are a lot reasons why we don't go after what we want, self-doubt, comparison, history of failing period, etc. But the one thing you should do is still keep pushing. Still try to figure out what is that you want to do and how to do it. And today I'm sharing with you 5 things you should know to stop holding back on your dreams.

The definition of progress means to move forward in order to reach a certain destination. When it comes to your dreams, the destination is already set, you simply have to move forward towards it. Unfortunately there is no straight path to getting where you want to be, but one thing that you can do is take the first step. Your dreams are waiting for you, just how a blind date is set up, but one thing for sure, you're afraid that your dreams might actually be what you're looking for.

I get it, it's scary. Going after something that you really want to so bad in your life can make you afraid, but you have to take the first step. And that doesn't mean making major decisions and choices; progress is working towards your goal little by little and eventually reaching your destination.

Time is something we all wish we had more of, especially when it comes to working a 9-5, having to be there for family, friends, significant others, on top of making sure that we are taking care of ourselves the best way possible. But time is also something that we need to take advantage of.

Realize that although your dreams don't expire, time is running out. The longer you take to get your idea out to the rest of world, it might be too late. People have ideas or dreams that can change the world, but the longer they wait, their ideas/dreams may be outdated.

If you don't take anything away from this, take away the fact that you need to get clear on what it is that you want to do. You can't reach a target you don't know where it is. Your goals should be as specific as possible; the more specific you are, the clearer you are on what you need to do to get where you want to be.

Anybody can say that they want to start a business, but what kind of business. Business is a broad term that can mean anything when it comes to making a profit.

Get clear on what you want to do, who you want to target, and why you want to do it.

Let's be clear, you can't dodge failure. We as humans fail everyday. We might fail as children for not calling our parents on Sundays; fail as significant others for forgetting important dates in our relationships; we simply fail. So knowing this, it makes no sense to hold yourself to expectations since failure is apart of your everyday life.

When it comes to your dreams, failure is something that's needed. You need to fail. Failure is the biggest teacher because it tells you want you were doing wrong and what you need to do right. It tells you where you should be and what you should be doing at certain times. Learn from failure and learn fast.

At the end of the day, you determine whether you succeed or not. As much as you want it to happen, success will only happen on your own terms. If you really want to see yourself at another level in life then you need to create a ladder and climb your way to the top.

Most people believe that success will happen eventually if they keep saying that it will, but you can only speak certain things into existence until they require you to actually make action.
